I’m Neil - a lawyer and Fellow of the International Compliance Association, specialising in EU and UK privacy, AI governance, and digital regulation. I’m the founder of GLF Strategic Compliance.
I work with lawyers, founders, executives, and technical teams when regulatory expectations, data use, or accountability structures are unclear and need to be made intelligible before decisions are taken.
My focus is on turning complexity into clarity.
I provide senior, scoped advisory support, often functioning as an overflow or “second-brain” resource for law firms and lean in-house teams. The work is typically point-in-time and judgement-led, helping organisations and their advisers understand where responsibility sits, what assumptions they are relying on, and whether heavier governance or compliance work is actually required.
Before founding GLF, I worked in London law firms and senior in-house roles across global technology, entertainment, and insurance organisations, including board-level governance and risk positions. That experience shapes a practical, proportionate approach to regulation - one that respects commercial reality while remaining defensible under scrutiny.
I do not default to building or running full compliance programmes, acting as a managed compliance function, or embedding as a fractional team member. Where deeper remediation or implementation is required, my role is to help clarify what is needed and support escalation to the appropriate internal teams or specialist advisers.
Clients and advisers work with me because I help them think clearly about risk, document positions sensibly, and move forward with confidence, without unnecessary bureaucracy or fear-based compliance.
